Aviation English … their foundation to earn their wings to fly
Recognizing that the English language plays an important role in their pilot training, and eventually in their flying career, these unrelenting young pilot trainees did not stop learning.
“They never stop learning. Their enthusiasm to know more is very encouraging. You can actually feel their passion to becoming a pilot during the Aviation English lessons. Frankly, teachers love such students,” said Mr Sherman Kwok, Head of MATS and Aviation English teacher.
They have attended the part-time Aviation English course at MATS before continuing their journey to attain the licence as a fully qualified commercial pilot to fulfil their one big dream. And the Aviation English has helped them to acquire knowledge of the language, which is a combination of aviation phraseology and plain English, and certain aviation facts. In addition, Aviation English conducted by MATS has also provided them the rare opportunity to use and to have connection with the English language more frequently through listening, reading, speaking and extensive class discussion. All these were done within the aviation context.
Now they are in one of the Philippines pilot training schools to start a new chapter of their learning journey, and eventually to be certified commercial pilots. MATS would like to wish everyone a meaningful training and success in all exams.
Myanmar and MATS will see you back in Yangon with wings!
